These are the three reasons why winter is a great time to sell your home.
What are the advantages of selling your house during the holidays and winter? While many believe that the prime selling seasons are summer and spring, there are three key reasons why the holidays and winter can be a favorable time for sellers, and today, I’m sharing them with you.
1. Serious sellers. During this season, you’ll mostly find serious sellers in the market. Some homeowners prefer to enjoy the holidays and don’t want potential buyers wandering through their homes. Casual sellers might choose to wait until spring or summer, resulting in less competition for those who decide to list their properties in December or January.
2. Genuinely committed buyers. They are not casually browsing while running errands or attending sporting events. They are on a focused mission to find a new home, making them serious and motivated buyers.
3. A strong desire to take action. In my two decades of experience in real estate, I’ve observed a pattern where people become more determined to pursue their real estate goals around the holidays and New Year’s. There’s a sense of renewal and a strong desire to take action. Many individuals make moving a part of their New Year’s resolutions, leveraging the kids’ school holidays and the fresh start of the year. In fact, my own experience relocating from Boston to Portland involved house hunting during Christmas and purchasing our new home in January, aligning with my husband’s new job. This time of year often motivates people to act on their real estate aspirations.
